Overview:

Toupret Exterior Rock Solid Repair Filler is a cement-based exterior repair filler that sets to an exceptionally hard finish. It bonds to virtually any substrate with no limit on application depth. Rich in resin, it shapes without formwork and requires no substrate sealing prior to use.

Mix the powder at 450ml water per 1kg (45%) and work within a 30-minute window. The filler is ready to overcoat in 24 hours. It achieves an adhesion strength of over 0.8 MPa to EN 16 566 and complies with BS EN 16566:2014.

Do not apply below 5°C or above 35°C, or where relative humidity exceeds 80%. This product contains cement - always wear protective gloves and eye protection during application. A P2 dust mask must be worn when sanding.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Rock hard finish: Sets to an extremely hard, strong surface once fully dry.
  • No depth limit: Apply at any thickness - no restriction on repair depth, in a single pass.
  • Rich in resin: Provides outstanding adhesion across a wide range of substrates.
  • Wide substrate compatibility: Bonds to cement, concrete, brickwork, breeze blocks, stone, glass, glazed tiles, gypsum plaster and old painted surfaces.
  • Shapeable without formwork: Mould and shape the filler directly by hand without any supporting framework.
  • No substrate sealing required: Apply directly without priming or sealing the surface first.
  • 30-minute working time: Allows adequate time for attentive shaping and finishing on site.
  • 24-hour overcoating: Overcoat with standard waterborne masonry or mineral paint after 24 hours.
  • BS EN 16566:2014 compliant: Characterisation NFT 36 005 Family IV class 4c.
  • Adhesion tested to EN 16 566: Achieves over 0.8 MPa filler-to-substrate adhesion strength.
  • Low VOC: VOC content below 0.5%.
  • 6-month product guarantee: Guaranteed for 6 months from purchase when stored correctly in the original packaging, away from humidity.

Typical Applications

  • Filling and repairing cracks or damage in exterior cement and concrete walls
  • Patching and rebuilding brickwork and breeze block surfaces
  • Repairing stone facades and exterior stonework
  • Filling damaged areas on glass and glazed tile substrates
  • Deep exterior repairs with no depth restriction and no formwork required
  • Repairing and restoring old painted exterior surfaces
  • Exterior gypsum plaster filling and repair work
  • Shaping repairs to match surrounding profiles without moulds or shuttering

How to Use

  • Prepare the surface: Remove all loose, flaking or contaminated material. The surface must be hard, cohesive, clean, sound and dry before applying the filler.

  • Mix the filler: Add 450ml of water per 1kg of powder (45%). Pour the powder into water at room temperature, then stir until the mix is smooth and lump-free.

  • Apply the filler: Use a filling knife, trowel or blade to press the filler into the repair area. There is no restriction on application thickness.

  • Shape as required: Mould the material to the required profile while it is workable. Complete shaping within the 30-minute working time.

  • Allow to dry: Leave the repair to dry fully before overcoating. On average, overcoating can begin after 24 hours. Drying time varies with coat thickness and ambient conditions.

  • Overcoat: Apply any waterborne masonry or mineral paint directly over the dried repair. For solvent-based polyurethane or epoxy finishes, apply a waterborne masonry paint primer coat first.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • What surfaces can Toupret Exterior Rock Solid Repair Filler be applied to?
It can be applied to a wide range of substrates, including cement, concrete, brickwork, breeze blocks, stone, glass, glazed tiles, gypsum plaster and old painted surfaces - both new and renovated.

  • Is there a maximum fill depth per application?
No. There is no depth limit. Repairs of any thickness can be filled in a single application, with no formwork required to support the material.

  • How long after application before the repair can be painted?
The filler can be overcoated after 24 hours on average. This will vary depending on coat thickness, substrate type and the ambient temperature and humidity at the time of application.

  • What temperature conditions are needed for application?
Do not apply at temperatures below 5°C or above 35°C. The relative humidity must not exceed 80% at the time of application.

  • Does the substrate need to be sealed before applying the filler?
No sealing is required before application. If you plan to overcoat with a solvent-based polyurethane or epoxy paint once the filler has dried, apply a waterborne masonry paint primer coat first.
