Overview:

SikaSeal Construction Silicone + is a trade-ready, low modulus acetoxy cure silicone designed for everyday construction sealing where speed, flexibility and a clean finish matter. It cures faster than conventional low-modulus silicones, forms a weather-tight waterproof seal, and includes an anti-fungal compound to help resist black mould in humid areas. It’s the current Sika-branded replacement for the familiar Everbuild 335 Construction Silicone, introduced during the changeover to the Sika range so the cartridge and product name are new, but it’s still intended for the same core sealing applications.

Supplied in a 295ml cartridge, it’s ideal for perimeter pointing around PVCu, aluminium and timber frames, plus glazing and general weather sealing. With low dirt pick-up and strong adhesion to many common substrates, it’s a dependable choice for both interior and exterior jobs.

How to Use

• Ensure surfaces are clean, dry and dust-free; remove loose coatings and old sealant

• Cut the cartridge tip, fit the nozzle and cut the nozzle at an angle to suit bead size

• Apply a continuous bead with steady pressure using a quality sealant gun

• Tool within the working time for a neat finish; use masking tape for sharper edges if needed

• Clean uncured sealant from tools with suitable wipes or white spirit; remove cured sealant mechanically

• Is this a neutral cure silicone?
  No. It’s an acetoxy cure low modulus silicone designed for fast curing, waterproof weather sealing and flexible joints in typical construction and frame perimeter applications.

• How flexible is it for moving joints?
  It accommodates ±20% joint movement, helping seals stay intact as joints expand and contract with temperature changes and normal building movement.

• Does it help prevent mould in humid areas?
  Yes. It contains an anti-fungal compound to help resist black mould growth, making it suitable for humid internal areas as well as exterior weather sealing.

• What surfaces does it bond to?
  It bonds strongly to many substrates including PVCu, brick, glass, aluminium, plastics and timber. Always test adhesion first where surfaces are unusual or unknown.

• Are there any key limitations I should know?
  Avoid soft metals (e.g., lead) and be cautious on cement-based/very porous substrates without suitable preparation, as adhesion requirements can vary by surface and condition.

• How do I clean up after application?
  Uncured sealant can be cleaned with suitable wipes or white spirit. Once cured, it generally needs mechanical removal or a dedicated silicone remover.
