Flow Rock Glue PRO 5 Litre Ultimate Garden Decorative Rock Gravel Mulch Binder RGLUE5L

Barcode: 5061029212794

MPN: RGLUE5L

Overview:

Flow Rock Glue PRO 5 Litre is a water-based binder designed to tame loose decorative materials in small to medium outdoor areas. Applied over or mixed through gravel, slate chippings, bark, mulch and similar aggregates, it helps create a neater, lightly bonded surface that still looks natural but is far less likely to kick out, track indoors or wash away in heavy rain.

This 5L size is ideal for paths, borders, beds, feature areas, pots and around stepping stones, where you want a cleaner, low-fuss finish without installing a full resin-bound system. Once cured, the surface remains permeable and free-draining, and is suitable for use around plants, pets and wildlife when dry.

What It’s Designed to Do:

Flow Rock Glue PRO 5L is formulated to:

  • Help keep loose stone, bark and mulch in place rather than migrating

  • Reduce scatter onto lawns, paving and doorways

  • Limit wash-out and erosion on sloping or exposed areas

  • Sharpen the look of edges, borders and decorative zones

  • Cut down day-to-day maintenance in walkways and high-use spots

How the Binder Behaves:

  • Light, Flexible Bond:
The liquid penetrates into the top layer and dries to form a fine, flexible film around the particles. This gently encourages the material to “lock” together, without turning it into a solid slab, so underfoot feel stays natural.

  • Free-Draining Surface:
Once cured, water continues to soak through the surface, so it’s well suited to planted beds, tree surrounds and gravel borders where good drainage is important.

  • Garden-Friendly and Water-Based:
Being water-based and free of harsh solvents, the product is intended for use in domestic gardens. After full curing, the treated area is suitable around plants, pets and wildlife when used as directed.

  • Weather-Resistant Finish:
The bonded layer is designed to cope with rain, wind and everyday pedestrian use, helping the surface stay tidy for longer between maintenance visits.

Where You Can Use It:

Suitable for use over or mixed with:

  • Decorative gravel and chippings

  • Slate and similar decorative aggregates

  • Bark, mulch and wood-based ground cover

  • Around stepping stones, paving flags and edging

  • In pots, planters, feature rings and display areas

Best results are achieved with clean, reasonably uniform aggregates rather than very fine dust or muddy material.

Available in 4 sizes including a 750ml trigger Spray

Demonstration Video of the Flow Rock Glue Pro Garden Stone & Gravel Binder:

This video shows how Flow Rock Glue Pro binds garden stones and gravel, demonstrating its application process and holding strength for pathway and landscaping projects.

Application Methods:

Flow Rock Glue PRO can be used either as a surface treatment on existing areas or pre-mixed with aggregate for new installations.

Method 1 – Surface Treatment (Existing Areas):

  • Preparation:

    • Ensure the area is dry, swept and free from loose debris or heavy moss.

    • Rake and level the gravel, bark or mulch to the profile you require.

  • First Application:

    • Shake the container thoroughly before use.

    • Apply using a garden sprayer or watering can, working methodically so the top layer is evenly damp but not saturated.

  • Work In & Consolidate:

    • Lightly rake or agitate the top layer to help Rock Glue PRO soak in.

    • Tamp or press the surface with a board, float or plate to firm and flatten.

  • Second Application:

    • Apply a second, even coat to the compacted surface to strengthen the bonded layer.

  • Curing:

    • Allow to dry for around 24 hours in dry conditions.

    • Keep people, pets and hoses off the area until fully cured.

    • Check for any loose patches afterwards and spot-treat if required.

Method 2 – Pre-Mix with Aggregate (New or Re-Laid Areas):

  • Combine:

    • Place your chosen aggregate into a tub, barrow or mixer.

    • Add Rock Glue PRO at the rate suggested on the container. As a guide, approx. 1 litre per 16 sq.ft can be used as a starting point and adjusted depending on depth and material.

  • Coat Evenly:

    • Mix thoroughly until all pieces appear evenly coated, with no obvious dry pockets.

  • Lay & Shape:

    • Pour into the prepared bed or frame.

    • Spread to the required depth and shape to your final finish.

  • Optional Top Mist:

    • For extra cohesion, lightly mist the surface with a little more product.

  • Cure:

    • Leave for 24–48 hours depending on weather.

    • Avoid traffic and water until the surface is dry and firm.

Coverage Guidance:

  • As a working guide, manufacturer data indicates that 5L can cover up to around 8m² or roughly 20kg of gravel at three coats, depending on substrate and application method.

  • Coverage will vary with:

    • Aggregate size and type

    • Depth of material

    • Whether you are spraying over or pre-mixing

    • How generously each coat is applied

Always refer to the on-pack instructions and adjust for site conditions.

Important Application Notes:

  • Only apply in dry, frost-free conditions.

  • Avoid use if rain, heavy dew or very high humidity are expected during curing.

  • Do not walk on, drive over or hose the treated surface until fully dry.

  • Clean sprayers, watering cans and tools immediately with clean water.

Who This 5L Size Suits Best:

  • Homeowners treating single paths, small patios, borders, gravel strips or feature areas.

  • Gardeners and landscapers working on smaller projects or trial areas before scaling up.

  • Pet owners wanting to improve localised areas such as dog runs, kennel surrounds or favourite garden routes.

  • Trades and handymen needing a convenient size for occasional decorative gravel or mulch stabilising jobs.

Additional Information & Tips:

  • For gentle stabilising of lightly used areas, surface treatment is often sufficient.

  • For sloping sections, drive-over edges or very loose material, the pre-mix method can give a more robust result.

  • Any binder may slightly alter the appearance or sheen of the surface, so it is always sensible to test on a small, discreet patch first before treating a larger section.

While we don’t anticipate any issues, it’s always wise to test on a small area first to ensure surface compatibility.
