Sika SikaSeal Fire Guard in White is a one part water based fire resistant acrylic sealant developed for internal joints and gaps where both fire protection and sound reduction are important. Sold here as a single 295ml cartridge, it can be used in a standard good quality sealant Gun. it is ideal for smaller jobs, maintenance work, patch repairs and one-off sealing tasks around fire rated partitions, door frames and service penetrations. This easy to apply non slump formula tools neatly, remains permanently flexible when cured and can be painted over once dry, making it a practical option for both specialist installers and general building work.
Previously known as Everbuild Fire Mate Intumescent Acrylic Sealant, this product is now supplied as part of the Sika brand transition under the SikaSeal Fire Guard name. When exposed to heat, it swells to help resist the passage of fire for up to 4 hours in suitably designed joints, while also offering good acoustic performance around internal construction details,

How to Use Fire Guard
Ensure surfaces are clean, dry and free from dust, loose material and old sealant
For non porous surfaces, improve adhesion by cleaning thoroughly and allowing the surface to dry before application
Priming is generally not required, although a small test area is always recommended
Cut the cartridge tip carefully and fit the nozzle
Trim the nozzle at a 45 degree angle to suit the joint size
Apply using a standard sealant gun with steady pressure
Tool the sealant for a neat finish using a spatula or wetted tool
For cleaner edges, use masking tape and remove it shortly after application
Clean uncured product with wipes or a damp cloth
