Brick and block cutting with a hammer and bolster.

The bolster can be used to break bricks or blocks by hand work yourself around the brick or block with the bolster and hammer using light taps this will create the break point this should be all the way round depending on the brick or concrete block, Place the brick on the ground or a bed of sand this has some give this will deaden the hammer blows and hopefully increase the chances of a clean break, the final blow will be a firm hard blow to break along the line, some practice is required and it will not go right all the time, practice makes perfect as they say.

The added benefit of breaking bricks and blocks by hand instead of with a disk cutter is the lack of dust.
