Overview:
Everbuild Galva Mate is a specialist grey duct sealant designed for high-velocity heating and ventilation systems. This solvent-free adhesive and sealant bonds strongly to galvanised and stainless steel ductwork, joints and ventilation grilles, delivering an airtight, long-lasting seal. The low-slump formula stays where it’s applied, even on vertical seams, while remaining permanently flexible to accommodate vibration and thermal movement in HVAC systems. Containing a high level of fungicide, it helps resist mould growth in humid plant rooms and duct runs, and can be overpainted once cured for a neat, professional finish.
Key Features
High-performance sealant for high-velocity ductwork and HVAC systems

Applications
Sealing high-velocity HVAC duct runs and fabricated galvanised ductwork joints
Airtight sealing around ventilation grilles, plenums and duct fittings
Joints and seams on stainless steel and galvanised metal ducting
Plant room duct sealing in high-humidity environments (with fungicidal protection)
General specialist duct sealing where a flexible, over paintable grey seal is required
How to Use
Ensure all duct faces, joints and flanges are clean, sound and free from dust, oil, loose coatings and old mastic. Remove loose rust and failing sealant.
Cut the cartridge tip, fit the nozzle and trim to the required bead size. Load into a standard sealant gun.
Apply a continuous bead along the joint, seam or flange, ensuring good contact with both sides of the joint.
Tool the sealant immediately using a suitable spatula or gloved finger to compact it into the joint and achieve a smooth finish.
Allow the sealant to skin (typically 15–60 minutes) and cure fully (around 3–5 days) before subjecting the ducting to full service conditions.
Always read the latest Product Data Sheet and Safety Data Sheet before use, and wear appropriate gloves and eye protection.
Everbuild Galva Mate Duct Sealant – Key FAQs
What is this sealant mainly designed for?
It’s specifically formulated for sealing high-velocity metal ductwork and associated HVAC components such as joints, seams and ventilation grilles in heating and ventilation systems.
Will it stick to galvanised and stainless steel?
Yes, the formulation is designed to adhere strongly to galvanised and stainless steel surfaces, making it ideal for modern spiral and rectangular duct systems.
Is the sealant flexible once cured?
It remains permanently flexible with a low-to-medium movement capability of around ±5%, helping it accommodate vibration and thermal expansion without cracking.
Can it be painted after application?
Yes, once fully cured it can be overpainted with many conventional coatings. Always test compatibility on a small area first, and allow sufficient curing time before painting.
How long does it take to cure fully
It typically reaches tack-free in 15–60 minutes and achieves full cure within about 3–5 days, depending on joint depth, temperature and humidity.
Is it suitable for humid or condensate-prone areas?
Yes. It contains a high level of fungicide to help resist mould growth in high-humidity environments, making it well suited to plant rooms and ductwork carrying moist air.
