Sikaflex Tank N is designed for connection joints in floors, joints for crack control in industrial floors and floor joints between pre-cast concrete elements and has excellent CHEMICAL RESISTANCE making this sealant the go to sikaflex for those difficult areas such as petrol forecourts chemical storage areas water tanks, for areas used to storage and filling and handling of water polluting liquids, storage tanks and containment bunded tanks and movement and connection joints in parking garages.

Sika Sikaflex Tank N has good movement capacity of + or - 25% it has good application properties and is for professional use only joints need to be constructed correctly either with a bond breaker or the use of polyethylene backer rod.

Sikaflex Tank N can be finished using sika tooling fluid Smoothing Agent N.

Recommended for:

• High traffic floor joints such as those found in garage forecourts, warehouses, factory floors, petrol forecourts chemical storage areas water tanks, for areas used to storage and filling and handling of water polluting liquids, storage tanks and containment bunded tanks and movement and connection joints in parking garages etc.
• The Sikaflex Tank N joint sealing system is approved for application on uncoated liquid proofed precast concrete elements.
• Sikaflex Tank N has a technical approval for use in storage, filling and handling facilities for water-polluting liquid.
  

Substrate Preparation:

1. The substrate must be clean, dry, sound and homogeneous, free from oils, grease, dust and loose or friable particles.
2. Sikaflex Tank N adheres without primers and or activators, however, for optimum adhesion and critical, high performance applications, such as on multi-story buildings,
3. highly stressed joints, extreme weather exposure or water immersion, the following priming and or pre-treatment procedures shall be followed:

1. Concrete, aerated concrete and cement-based renders, mortars and bricks shall be primed using Sika Primer 3N applied with a brush, before sealing allow a flash-off time.
2. For more detailed advice and instructions please contact the local Sika Technical Services Department.
3. Note: Primers are adhesion promoters they are neither a substitute for the correct cleaning of a surface nor do they improve the strength of the surface significantly.
   

Application Methods:

• Sikaflex Tank N is supplied ready to use over the top of the correct size Backer rod.
• After the necessary substrate preparation insert a suitable backing rod to the required depth and apply any primer if necessary.
• Insert a foil pack into the sealant gun and extrude Sikaflex Tank n into the joint making sure that it comes into full contact with the sides of the joint and avoids any air entrapment.
• Sikaflex Tank N sealant must be firmly tooled against the joint sides to ensure adequate adhesion.
• Use a compatible tooling agent Sika Tooling Agent N to smooth the joint surfaces.
• Do not use tooling products containing solvents.
