Cromar 1 litre Bitumen Primer is used to give a key prior to applying bitumen paints products and bitumen roof coatings.

Mainly used for priming Concrete roofs, floors, cementitious screeds, renders, Bitumen felt, asphalt, mastic Weathered corrugated iron, steel, Wood.

Fast drying suitable for use with all bituminous surface coatings

Also suitable as a primer prior to applying any further coats of bitumen paint.

May be applied to a range of surfaces

Product Limitations:

Allow sufficient drying time before overcoating.

Surface Preparation and application

Preparation of the surface's all surfaces must be sound, stable and thoroughly clean and dry.

Care needs to be taken over preparation of surfaces before application.

All surfaces must be free from oil, dirt, dust and loose debris.

On metal surfaces all loose rust should be removed using a wire brush and where advanced signs of corrosion are evident the area be treated with a rust inhibitor.

Surfaces should be dry for best results, although Bitumen Primer will adhere to damp but not wet surfaces.

Bitumen Primer is resistant to rainfall within 20-30 minutes of application.

Do not use in temperatures less than +5 degree C.

Approximate Coverage Rates

The coverage per litre is dependent upon the porosity of the surface

Metal surfaces 6 to 12 meter square per litre

Concrete and porous surfaces 6 to 8 meter square per litre

Lightweight concrete screeds and asbestos cement 3.5 to 5 meter square per litre.
