Overview:

The Amtech 280mm Polyurethane Plastering and Rendering Lightweight Float is a sturdy, easy-to-handle tool designed for levelling, rubbing up and finishing plaster, cement and other building materials. Made in one piece from lightweight polyurethane, it offers a comfortable grip with a large handle and a non-absorbent patterned face that won’t soak up water helping it glide smoothly over the surface and clean up quickly after use.

For added versatility, it can also be adapted into a scratch float by carefully fitting plasterboard nails so the points protrude from the face, creating a key to help the finish coat bond.

  • Suitable for plaster, cement and rendering materials

  • Large handle for comfortable grip and control

Amtech Polyurethane Plastering and Rendering Float – Key FAQs

  • What is this float used for?
It’s used for rubbing up, levelling and finishing plaster, cement and rendering materials to achieve a flatter, more consistent surface.

  • Is the float affected by water?
No, the polyurethane body and non-absorbent face are easy to clean and won’t soak up water like some traditional floats.

  • Why is a non-absorbent face useful?
It helps the float glide more consistently and makes cleaning quicker, especially when working with wet plaster or cement-based materials.

  • Can this be used as a scratch float?
Yes, it can be adapted by adding plasterboard nails so they protrude slightly, allowing you to scratch the surface and create a key for a finish coat.

  • What size is it?
This float measures 280mm x 140mm, a handy size for general plastering and rendering work.
